We provide a range of activities for older people across our centres, available to anyone over the age of 50. These are casual sessions so you can attend whenever you are available. You do not need to pre-book and with a range of choices we are sure you can find something to keep you active.

Class Descriptions

Most classes are suitable for all levels of fitness and ability. Some classes are not suitable for those who have recently had abdominal operations or anyone who suffers with high blood pressure.

Customers who suffer from any known medical condition should seek medical advice before taking part and should inform the instructor of any such conditions or injuries before the class begins.

Suitable clothing is recommended and suitable footwear must be worn.

50+ Profiles Gym

Come use the gym to get your exercise fix at a discounted rate during our 50+ profiles gym hours. Our gym instructor will be on hand to help with any questions you may have and offer you exercise suggestions to aid your workout.  

Badminton

Casual pay and play badminton in the main hall. Come and play as a group or pairs at our sport centres. Rackets and shuttles can be hired if needed.

Bowls

Bowls is a fun, active and technical sport and our active seniors classes are a great way to socialise, as well as develop your skills and techniques in bowls. This activity is a casual pay as you go activity, therefore no booking is required.

Breathe Well

Our fully qualified instructors will run a gentle 1 hour exercise circuit based session that will open up your lungs, keep blood flowing and assist help improve pulmonary functions.  Plus, there’s an hour of social time at the end of the class with a well earned tea or coffee!

Low Impact Fitness (50+)

A gentle exercise based class to music, aiming to increase flexibility, mobility, strength and cardiovascular component with a range of seated, standing and resistance based exercises. Suitable for fitness users who require a lower intensity and impact level.

Sequence Dance

A form of dancing in which ballroom dance steps are used as the basis for a wide variety of different dances typically performed in a sequence. Plus there is social time at the end of the class, with a well earned tea or coffee!
