Meet Our Staff

Hi, I’m Jeni and I joined Ipswich Fit in January 2022 as the sports & Leisure Manager. I have always been an active person and enjoy helping others to move more and feel the benefits of positive impacts both physically and mentally. I make the most of our swimming facilities regularly swimming over a mile at lunchtime.

I am passionate about our 5 main objectives which revolve around getting people more active through providing active places, active facilities and active environments for people to enjoy physical activity in, working with other organisations committed to an active Ipswich.

I have been quickly welcomed into the team and enjoy the challenge of a varied and fast-paced role.

Hi, my name is Courtney and I have been a sports assistant for three years now. I have had multiple opportunities with various sports centres from birthday party assisting to half term dance coaching. I have such a great network of staff and feel honoured to be a part of a great team.

Hello, my name is Steve and I joined the council in April 2017 as a Pool Plant Operator based at Crown Pools, my role involves keeping the pool water you swim in clean and safe for all swimmers, I’ve had a passion for pool water treatment now for 20 years and find it fascinating as to what happens “behind the scenes” to the water once it leaves the pool and returns back after a maze of different treatments.

I was recently promoted to an Assistant Manager role at Crown Pools as well as still keeping my hand in water treatment, these are two very different roles that make every day a joy to come to work.

My leisure career over the last 20 years has seen me rise through the ranks, working as a Lifeguard, Swimming Teacher, Duty Manager, RLSS Trainer Assessor teaching lifeguarding and first aid to a new generation of leisure professionals.

I’d certainly recommend a career in leisure, there are so many avenues to go down and no day is ever the same.
