Our Centres
We run 4 locations throughout Ipswich, including 2 Sports and Leisure centres, 3 Gyms, and 2 Swimming Pools. These, along with external locations such as our parks and open spaces, play host to a variety of sports and activities for our members and the wider community.

Meet Our Staff
Hello, my name is Steve and I joined the council in April 2017 as a Pool Plant Operator based at Crown Pools, my role involves keeping the pool water you swim in clean and safe for all swimmers, I’ve had a passion for pool water treatment now for 20 years and find it fascinating as to what happens “behind the scenes” to the water once it leaves the pool and returns back after a maze of different treatments.
I was recently promoted to an Assistant Manager role at Crown Pools as well as still keeping my hand in water treatment, these are two very different roles that make every day a joy to come to work.
My leisure career over the last 20 years has seen me rise through the ranks, working as a Lifeguard, Swimming Teacher, Duty Manager, RLSS Trainer Assessor teaching lifeguarding and first aid to a new generation of leisure professionals.
I’d certainly recommend a career in leisure, there are so many avenues to go down and no day is ever the same.
