Racquet Hire
We offer a variety of sports equipment for hire. All racquets and bats are available for £1.00 per session – under 16s hire FREE!
Available to Hire: Badminton Racquets, Squash Racquets, Tennis Racquets, Table Tennis Bats and Pickleball Paddles and Balls.
Equipment for Sale at Reception: Shuttlecocks, Squash Balls, Tennis Balls and Table Tennis Balls.
Badminton
Badminton courts are available to hire at Gainsborough Sports Centre and Whitton Sports Centre.
Adult – £13.80 per court (55 Minutes)
Junior / Concession – £11.40 per court (55 Minutes)
Over 50’s Badminton & Pickleball Sessions
We operate badminton and pickleball sessions for over 50’s:
Whitton Sports Centre:
Mondays – 10am – 12pm
Wednesdays – 10:30am – 12:30pm
Fridays – 10:30am – 12:30pm
Gainsborough Sports Centre:
Thursday – 13:30pm – 15:30pm
*Please note Pickleball is currently only available at Gainsborough Sports Centre.
Squash
Squash courts are available to hire at Whitton Sports Centre.
Adult – £16.40 per court (40 Minutes)
Junior / Concession – £10.90 per court (40 Minutes)

Pickleball
Pickleball is available at Gainsborough Sports Centre.
Pickleball is a fast growing paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. It’s popular because it’s easy to learn, fun for all ages, and can be played casually or competitively.
What the Game Looks Like
• Court size: Similar to a badminton doubles court (20 ft x 44 ft).
• Net: Slightly lower than a tennis net.
• Equipment: A solid paddle (larger than a table tennis paddle)
• A plastic ball with holes (a bit like a Wiffle ball).
How It’s Played
• You can play singles or doubles.
• Points are scored only by the serving team.
• The serve is underhand.
Why People Love It
• Easy to pick up — even for beginners.
• Less physically demanding than tennis.
• Social, fun, and fast-paced.

Can I borrow equipment from the Centre?
We have a limited supply of equipment for customers to hire, but please bring your own where possible. We also have a range of equipment available in our Sports Shops for customers to purchase – for more information please ask at reception.
