Emergency First Aid at Work
This 6-hour course gives you the vital knowledge to give CPR in an emergency. As first aid is very important, it also teaches how to provide first aid for different medical emergencies wherever you are. Once you have completed this course you will know your role as a first aider and be able to provide care for a choking casualty and know what to do if someone has a seizure. With these skills you could save someone’s life.

First Aid at Work
This course is designed to refresh your skill and knowledge on how to deal with any emergency, from minor emergencies such as cuts and grazes to major emergencies like burns and choking. You will be confident in dealing with head injuries, poisoning, shock and so much more. The First aid at work qualification will teach CPR, recovery position and how to do a secondary survey.
Some sessions will include AED and Anaphylaxis training.

First Aid at Work 2-day refresher
Once you have attended a First Aid at Work course you will be confident dealing with head injuries, poisoning, shock and so much more. The First Aid at Work qualification will teach CPR, recovery position and how to do a secondary survey. After completing this course, you will need to renew it every three years. To keep skills and knowledge up to date it is advised to do regular First Aid at Work refresher training.
Candidates must complete all days.

Paediatric First Aid
The paediatric first aid course is ideal for people working with children. This course gives you the knowledge to perform CPR on a child and infant. You will train to become a first aider providing first aid for different emergency situations. Learning these skills could save someone’s life. It teaches you what to do in a variety of different incidents and emergencies including choking, nose bleeds, shock and head injuries. Not only is this perfect for those working with children and infants, but also parents and grandparents.

Life Support and Life Support 3
Life Support and Life Support 3 are short courses giving people the knowledge to perform CPR and deal with an unconscious but breathing casualty. After completing this course, you will be confident dealing with other medical emergencies including how to recognise someone is choking and how to treat them. Life Support 3 is a more advanced course than Life Support, but both give you important skills. They can also have the AED bolt on at the end.

Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
AED is part of the guidelines for Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in the UK and Europe and a vital part of improving the chance of survival in cases of cardiac arrest, in some cases up to 75%.
RLSS UK Qualifications offer a standalone AED course and the opportunity to add AED qualification to several of our qualification courses. The Level 2 Award in Automated External Defibrillator- AED enables someone to give CPR and use an AED. The qualification is Ofqual accredited and valid for two years.
The Automated External Defibrillator course lasts for four hours and is designed to be delivered in one day. The course comprises of practical work and theoretical classroom work, including practical assessment on CPR and AED.

Anaphylaxis Management
The regulated Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis has been created with support from Anaphylaxis Campaign.
RLSS UK Qualifications offer both a standalone course and the opportunity to add Anaphylaxis Management to several of our qualification courses. The qualification is Ofqual accredited and valid for two years.
The Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis course lasts for four hours and is designed to be delivered in one day. The course comprises of practical work and theoretical classroom work, including practical assessment on CPR, AED and use of an adrenaline auto injector.

Save A Life Workshop
In the UK, 77% of people either don’t know or are unsure of how to perform CPR and millions of people wouldn’t know how to give basic first aid to another adult
To help Ipswich residents develop their knowledge about life-saving techniques, we are teaming up with the Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS) to offer a range of Save a Life series workshops.
These workshops are aimed at teaching basic emergency skills to anyone who cares for a baby, child or adult. Learn what to do if you were to come across someone who is unresponsive or not breathing, how to use an AED and when to put someone in the recovery position.
This course is free and delivered in the community, something all the family can learn together.

Lifeguard and Pools Training
National Pool Lifeguard Qualification
Training to become a lifeguard is a great career opportunity, offering work at leisure centres, holiday clubs and abroad. You will learn a variety of skills, not only theory-based with CPR and first aid, but your fitness will be tested through timed swims and pool rescues. You will gain knowledge on dealing with waterbased emergencies from spinals to reaching rescues. Lots of theory will be covered learning about health and safety, pool procedures and lifeguard responsibilities. We can offer optional extras added on to the NPLQ course like First Aid At Work or AED, if you would like to add this to the course please email our team for more details.

National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches
Ideal for swimming teachers and coaches, the National Rescue Award gives you the skills and knowledge to teach and coach swimming in a safe environment. From this course you will learn your responsibilities when teaching and how to make quick, effective rescues. As a swimming teacher or coach you will also need to learn CPR and first aid so you can deal with incidents around the swimming pool.

National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches Light
NRASTC LIGHT is a supervision and rescue award for swimming teachers, coaches and/or instructors working during programmed activities, such as swimming lessons when a Lifeguard or First Aid backup is available to respond quickly in the event of an emergency.
It is suitable for teachers working in a wide range of swimming pools, including pools where the water is deeper than the teacher’s standing depth. This award is only suitable when the facility has staff qualified as Lifeguards or First Aid.

Become a Trainer Assessor
This course enables candidates to be Trainer Assessors and be responsible for the delivery of RLSS UK’s vocational qualifications throughout the UK. It has been designed for anybody that is an experienced First Aider, Pool Lifeguard, Open Water Lifeguard, Beach Lifeguard, Swimming Teacher with National Rescue Award or Pool responder with ER Pool to take the next step.
On completion of the course, there is a probationary period (maximum of two years) and you will be supported by a National Trainer Assessor or a Mentor.

Pool Water Treatment
The eight-hour Pool Water Treatment qualification is more in-depth than a water testing course; covering the basic principles of the treatment of swimming pool water and enabling them to correctly test swimming pool and spa water.
This qualification is ideal for those who complete routine water testing and need to have general knowledge of swimming pool water treatment; it’s also the perfect stepping stone for those considering a career in pool maintenance and management, before they embark on our full Pool Plant Operations course.
